I had an interview last Monday. Went well; very well. They were impressed with my skills, education and legal background and very impressed with several comments made to their questions. I sent a thank you letter the same day and a follow up letter (to refresh their memories) at the end of the week. I was told I would hear, either way, by Monday (yesterday). No word yet. Yes, I understand that the hiring process takes longer than it did before due to so many people out of work, however, I took the time to attend the interview and expect nothing less than the same courtesy in return. If you say you're going to call, then CALL. If you're delayed, send a quick email to notify applicants a decision has not been made. Takes 15 minutes of your time (if you were smart enough not to interview 50 people for the job and limited it down to the best possible 5-10). Also, if you can spend 15 minutes to draft a rejection letter, you can certainly afford less than 5 minutes to make a call instead. There is absolutely no excuse for any employer not to call when they say. The professionalism demonstrated in instances like this is what differentiates a good manager from a bad one.

Hello:

I would move on from hearing from this organization. It sounds to me they were in the hiring process and you may have been in the running and they needed to weed out a couple people and they did. They most likely hired someone on the inside, most companies are obligated to post a postion, interview and then hire and unfortunately it is the outside folks that get hurt in the crossfire.

I had a telephone interview, then had to email back a math assessment, then off for a site interview. I do know that there were 4 of us for the site interviews which were completed 10 days ago-this for a position that was to start 10/1...I, to my knowledge was the only individual not working which they liked bcause I could start right away. Sent the HM (HR did not get involved) 2 emails and left one vm message-nothing...I would expect at least an email...I know it's an 'EMPLOYERS MARKET' but was about respect and dignity?? I was totally qualified for this job-and not knowing what went wrong, how can I correct for the next interview??

No, in California it's FIVE. Five per week, whether you're qualified or not, is what it amounts to. You'd quickly run out of things you were actually perfectly qualified to do, to apply for, and yet you still need your unemployment check and the "free" roof over your head that THEY'RE paying for. No, in San Francisco you have to bust your butt applying for just any and every job you can find listed anywhere, just to keep your bed at the homeless shelter, and if not, they cut you and you're out on the streets. No matter what that kind of relentless applying and silent rejection does to your health and state of mind. Which then leads to - it's a good thing that hypertension and stroke medications are free through Healthy San Francisco. You need them - because the City has driven you TO needing them.

Funny, I feel the same way about being a non-white minority. It sometimes goes all well and good until they lay eyes on me. Then, that's all she wrote. Thanks for stopping by. Etc, etc.
