Gender specific bathrooms available - yet one employee regularly uses the bathroom for the opposite gender. Small office so not easy to point fingers. No HR department, per se.

Is this just a breach of ettiquette or is there more stable footing we can use to stop this from happening. And suspect it is because the bathroom is the closest available (though only 5 feet closer) and doesn't want to miss a minute of work time.

(I checked and OSHA has no rules on this. Only on the number of gender-specific bathrooms required.)

We are in Mississippi if that matters - as far as legality goes.

Hi WorkBuzz, can you help me? I'm pitching a show on people who found success later in life. I read something by Rachel Zupek and think she might be a good person to speak with about this demographic. Can you put me in touch with her or someone that might help me find people to interview?

Thank you

I have 2 co-workers who surf the internet all day. One of them justs surfs around. The other searches for home sales for she is a realator. Here is my problem. I work a hard 40 hours for this company and get paid for 40. The co-workers mostly the realator one puts about 25 hours of effort into this job per week. The boss is fully aware of what she is doing, but lets her go on with it. The other week, I had come into work 1 hour late and I had to leave after 3 hours of work to attend another co-workers family funeral and I took 4 hours of personnal time (7 hours for the day). I wrote down on my time sheet for 8 hours total that day. To my surprise my boss chastized me about the one hour. I told him that I don't think that it is right for him to call me on the one hour when he lets other people get away with performing another job on his dime and does nothing about it. Is my boss just affraid to confront her about the hours or is he affraid of women? This has been going on for years and I have had discussions with my boss about this issue and nothing ever gets resolved. Is this what they call favoritism? What can I say to my boss to get him to confront this co-worker and her hours worked? I mean really, I wish I could work 25 hours and get paid 40.
