I worked for a company that couldn't understand me being happy at work. Everyone kept telling me I was too happy and would ask what was wrong with me. I didn't understand that one at all!!

I shared an office with my GM that would constantly ridicule me for how I sat in my chair "it has a back rest for a reason!". I sit on the front edge, straight back, balls of my feet down (yoga chair style). He hated me "homerow" typing (The speed of the key clicks was too distracting to him) and expected me to "hunt & peck" with index fingers like he did. Lastly he'd constantly take my trackball because he couldn't stand the "whirr" now and then when I'd spin the wheel to cursor across the screen. "The rest of the world uses a regular mouse, so can you!". We had face to face screaming matches over this stuff and he tried to complain to HR that my habits were too disruptive to his performance and requested I be transferred.

first / last three interviews:

phone - very nice, great qualifications
visit - OMG you're old
followup - postcard: we found someone more suitable [ie, 20-something]

conclusion: apparently the 20-somethings in HR are unable to determine from a resume that 30+ years of experience / two college degrees means the fellow is likely to be older than their big sister!

One of the computer lab I worked at in college I worked with a guy who barley did his job, barely. We were required to wear the vest that was on hand thair, he would have to be pressured into wearing the "smelly" vest. He constantly had food and drinks in the lab area and there was a rule for no food and drink in the lab. Always talking to someone on the phoneor in the lab and hitting on the ladies. Was always on a rush to get out when it was closing (stuck around till all the closing duties was done). He always complained about on how cleaning up the lab was beneath him, and called up his mother, who happened to be sleeping at the time, to complain.
