This is a great blog, glad you are providing it, and sorry I only just found it.

As a small business owner, I agree that the economic crisis is affecting how employees see their jobs. Traditionally, many of us small business owners haven't had an in-house HR adepartment either, so many of us don't have retirement or succession plans in place for our employees -- and as a result, many employees don't even have any sort of retirement plan in place, which makes losing one's job even more scary.

The impact of the economy on small business and their employees is something that needs to be addressed in every workplace. Along with, perhaps, some lessons in how the employees can get something going, planning-wise, ASAP.
