Concerning Zupek's article asserting that thousands of jobs are going unfilled because most Americans don't have any talent, I believe the real problem is employers are unwilling to compensate people for their skills. They want to pay minimum wage salaries so they get minimum wage applicants. I know dozens of people with Ed. degrees and others with CDL's but don't work in the field because the wages are so low they can't afford it.

Responding to Rachel Zupek's article on what not to say in the workplace - only when employees freely discuss salaries can employers lose power. requiring employees to keep salaries confidential insures that employees cannot learn the prevailing wage for their skills. i advocate free and open discussions of salaries.
