CareerBuilder.com Launches PrimeCB!

It’s no secret that there’s a shortage of qualified workers – you hear it everywhere, from daily news to reports to the blog you’re reading right now. But, given this shortage, 22 percent of employers say they plan to rehire retirees from other companies in 2008, according to a new CareerBuilder.com survey. Fourteen percent of employers plan to provide incentives for older workers to stay with the company longer. What’s even more suprising? Three out of five workers age 50 or older plan to look for work elsewhere after retiring from their current jobs.
To answer this demand, CareerBuilder.com launched PrimeCB.com, a job search site focused on connecting experienced and retired workers with potential employers. Retirees and other experienced workers can search for part-time, full-time and contract positions.
Nearly one-in-three US workers will be over 50 by the year 2012, according to AARP. Many want to postpone retirement but since many will retire as planned, PrimeCB.com wants to make sure they connect retirees who want to continue working with employers who want to keep the value of having experienced, skilled workers at their companies.
Are you an experienced worker not ready to retire? Here are four industries booming with opportunities for mature workers.
