How to look busy at work

I spent this weekend holed up in my apartment trying to fight off a cold that my favorite godson gave me. This meant hours of guilt-free time catching up on my DVR including two week’s worth of CBS’ Sunday Morning. (Yes, I record it … you don’t expect me to wake up in time to watch it at 8 a.m., do you?)
One of the segments from the show’s March 15th Money Issue was on how to look busy at work. Correspondent Bill Geist (who I thought I saw in a supermarket parking lot last Christmas Eve in New Orleans and my sister wouldn’t let me ask if it was really him … but I digress) interviewed “looking-busy” coach Jay Schorr. Yes, there really is such a person and he gets paid for it!
Schorr not only gives looking busy tips to workers – from how to dress “busy” to playing hooky without getting caught – but he also clues in employers who are trying to spot those employees who aren’t as busy as they should be.
